I am Maija Haavisto, a Finnish writer living in the Netherlands. Here you will find a variety of material reflecting me and my interests, including prose, medical articles, ASCII art, photography and vegetarian recipes.

18th April

With my latest novel (#9) and ScriptFrenzy both finished, I'm now focusing on my medical book, articles and short stories, some of which will hopefully end up in online and/or magazines. I just got two book contracts in the mail, so even with my food book postponed indefinitely you should see something new from me in the fall.

19th March

My TV appearance from earlier this month, talking about CFS/ME on a major Finnish talk show, can be watched online until February 2014 on YLE Areena (sorry, Finnish only). I am currently working on finishing my new novel and will start working on my first movie script soon.

17th February

I'm going to be on radio tomorrow and on television on the 1st of March talking about my CFS/ME (sorry, Finnish only). Both can be played back online for quite a long time afterwards. An article I wrote about Dutch dementia village Hogeweyk is also in the newest issue (7/2013) of Suomen Kuvalehti. I have added photos from #protun miitti and Jutan ja Kimmon häät.
