Welcome to fiikus

This is my website, revised as of 2008. You don't want to know how long it took, but let's just say that there were people from three different countries and two continents involved. I'm very happy with the results. There can still be some glitches, broken links and some functionality hasn't been implemented yet, but everything should work completely smoothly very soon. Big thanks to Julio Sepia, Lauri Koponen and Roberto Orsini for their contributions to this project.

The previous version of my website was almost 11 years old, so it was about time for something new. A lot of the old content still remains here, but a lot also had to go, because it was no longer relevant to me. All old file dates have been retained, if the file has not been changed aside from integrating into the new interface. The counter also counts where the one on my older website left off, for sentimental reasons.

I chose this domain name because it is phonetically, aesthetically and otherwise pleasant as well as simple and easy to remember. It is simply the Finnish word for the ficus plant.

Some updates, mostly links and stuff in the Miscellaneous section, as well as pictures from the Icons demoparty. I have announced an ASCII art contest which closes on the 7th of July (7/7/2008). Prizes include a DVD and possibly other stuff. Read more here.

Today is the international CFS/ME/fibromyalgia awareness day and also marks the release date of the English version of my book, Reviving the Broken Marionette: Treatments for CFS/ME and Fibromyalgia. I've also added some new photos and recipes on this site.

14th April 2008

Everything has mostly been fixed, including the interface. Only some glitches remaining in the formatting of some pages. My book will be out in about a month and its website should be out by the end of this month. Some new photos and new ASCII art have been added.
